Waving golden fields
precious harvest
waits to be
moved
Each grain
powerfully small
and strong enough
to leave their mark there.

Rooted deep.

Thanks Claudia. You guessed it pretty close. The wood is from inside the chute in a grain elevator. The others I’ll answer tomorrow!

Yikes. The last one, of course, is sunflowers. The first one puts me in mind of fields of wheat. The tails, I have no idea I feel like I”m driving through South Dakota sunflower fields…Midwest fields of grain. You’re good at this. And I think the other one is heart.

all i can think of is ‘riddled with woodworm’ for the first. We live in a 400 year old barn and our beams are riddled with holes from the glutonous little critters, so woodworm is often on our mind 🙂

Wheat falling against wood in a grain elevator! 🙂 The vibes are a grouchy cat. Heart and a drum (see legend below) and the sunflowers who, legend says, never see their shadows as they are always facing the sun.

1) Grain falling across the wood in a grain elevator. These are highly prized for decorators and elevator fans as there are fewer and fewer wooden grain elevators around anymore. I have more photos I’ll be putting up on my FB Photos by Shanyn if anyone wants to stop by.
2) Cat – very much armed on five of her six ends, greeting a cautious dog
3) A drum. Native legend tells us it is God’s favorite instrument because it sounds so much like a beating heart. So those who guessed heart were half right! 🙂
4) Sunflowers! It is said that sunflowers never see their shadows because they are always looking towards the sun. (also famously Helen Keller spoke of keeping your face to the sun)
