MicroMacro World

Her body tense, tail twitches softly.
Eyes focus. Not one blink.
Bird watching from
this side of the
window is
for the
birds.

Little cat, what do you see?
Birds you don’t catch?
They don’t tempt you
but they do intrigue.
Birdwatcher more than
huntress. Little Po.

I am hosting at dVerse, and for the past two days we have been playing with macro photography, and with micropoetry. I had a hard time choosing from my photos and finding inspiration. Then Po decided to sit next to my computer and bird watch. The light was perfect and she was so still. So here you have a macro of our cat, Po, and micro about her.

Perhaps for cats bird watching is a spiritual endeavor expressing their inner murderer in the warmth of a sunbeam

I have never thought of it that way…and when they kill for fun rather than food I can see where they are murderous. I think she is being curious, and engaging in her natural instinct to track prey. Even if she never hunts more than toys and dog tails!

Love this! Yes, for a cat, I’m sure that birdwatching from *this* side of the window truly IS for the birds 🙂

Beautiful photos of an adorably kitty… I loved the poems, especially the first one.

LOve these pics…and love the words. Hmm…I am feeling poetic. But I will have to see what I do. Is this at dverse?

Wonderful photos of your very photogenic Po, whose birdwatching you’ve captured so well with your words. Also, thanks for the great prompt.

These are incredibly exquisite. Now, I dare you to use him for MTB and do a contour drawing, too. Ha!

Okay I’ll take that dare, what are YOU going to contour draw? Hmmmmmm 🙂

You captured the enticement and readiness wonderfully! The macro picks up her individual hairs and I believe they are tempted by anything that moves and twitters….

She for sure is, and she has such long whiskers! I think they got longer after her ears froze, maybe giving her some extra sensory help. 🙂 She is ever curious.

Hey – how come you wrote so late when it was your prompt 🙂 I am just curious.

Loved the clarity of the shots – specially the eyes, they were great.

The is cute and lovable – enjoyed both equally.

Mostly because, as my husband would call it, I was ‘bush hiding’ (me staying behind the stage so you all could shine!)

I like to do that sometimes, see how everyone approaches the prompt before I jump in. That way, in my mind, my pub tending is about you all and not my poetry. If that makes sense.

Thanks! I was trying to capture her just right, and the sun was in my favor today.

      Glad you enjoyed them.

That is a very intense expression on kitty’s face (do cats have expressions? )

Excellent capture of the moment and great poems.

I had a cat who looked like this once. Her name was Ramanda or RCputtytat. She was extraordinary in many ways. My children wrote many tales about her and her offspring. I love your contemplation here. Very satisfying.

PS I think you went to the wrong blog for me. Just in case, my response to you is here: http://beachanny.blogspot.com/2014/03/macroviews-from-home.html I often post one place or the other as the topic seems to suit. I know it’s confusing. Sorry. I am still reading the links to your article and am way behind. That’s just me these days.
